Intense Battle of E-commerce Sale Begins With Flipkart and Amazon

Armed with different strategies the battle between Flipkart and Amazon will be nothing but an intense one. Both the companies are trying to knock each other sales desperately. While Flipkart Big Billion Sale is trying to woo the female customers by adding new brands to its portfolio, Amazon India is trailing on Flipkart path with an exception that it’s focusing more on the smartphones, electronics and least on the fashion segment. The company is planning to acquire more customers through the consumables category.

Amazon vs. Flipkart

In order to grab Amazon India by its collar, Flipkart has already tasked its executives to maintain 70-30 lead ( in which 30% of the time will be spent on leading and 70% of the time will be spent on managing the affairs). But that’s not all, both the companies are trying to speed up the delivery process and reduce the waiting period. It is estimated by the analysts that both the companies will deliver the gross sales of $1.5 billion-1.7 billion. Amazon India has added 160 million products under its flagship brand and it is banking heavily on the consumable segment. To counter react to its strategy Softbank funded Flipkart has tied up with third- party Logistics Company to capture more market share.  Even it is offering 10 percent discount to SBI Debit and Credit card holders. With it, you can avail the discount of Rs 1500 on each transaction. On the other hand Amazon is offering cash back discount of 10% on HDFC card. The maximum cashback that a customer can avail on the purchase of Rs 5000 items is Rs 1750.

The company has also announced, “Flipkart for India campaign” in which it is planning to ship the gift hampers to the family of martyrs, BSF, Central Reserve Police force posted in the remote locations.

With both the bigwigs are leaving no stone unturned to rule the hearts of people, there are other competitors who are trying to make a mark in the already crowded e-commerce market. Listed among them are

The Shop Clues Maha Bharat Diwali Sale will run from September 20 to September 28, will offer a wide array of products with a discount of 50-80 percent on it across different categories. With this, Shop Clues plans to achieve 75% plus growth in the business for the month of September-October.

PaytmMall

The company has announced Mera Cashback Sale from September 20 to September 23. With this the company is expecting to acquire 5-6 million new customers.

Lime Road

The fresh entrant in the market Lime Road sales are slated to start from September 15 to September 26. The “Festive Love Affair sale” will offer a wide collection of kurta, jewelry, traditional home décor, and a lot more. It caters to both budget buyers and luxury shoppers.

Boon for Customers

With so many players on board, the customers will surely receive a platter full of discounts, coupons and no cost EMI service on thousands of products on their sales. This gives an excellent opportunity to purchase electronic appliances or mobile phone on EMI without any additional interest charges.

So, get ready to loosen your purse strings because it would be very difficult to resist such attractive deals.
