Umang App Can Generate Life Certificate Online, Know How

PM Modi Launched Umang App on Thursday that renders 162 services from 33 departments of 4 states. One can also get his/her life certificate using this online portal instead of visiting crowded offices.

What is Umang App and how it is Useful?

The app that is developed by the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology is aimed to make common services like life certificate generation, EPFO, Aadhar, National Pension Scheme, CBSE and similarly 162 such services that are managed by the government easier to use. This app manages to give a single platform to all these services of around 33 departments.

One such scheme is life certificate generation. Under Umang app there is a service known as Jeevan Praman that offers to generate life certificate for pensioners.

Jeevan Praman: An Easy Way to Generate Life Certificate Online

In the month of November, pensioners are required to generate their Jeevan Praman certificate to ensure that their pension remains intact. Earlier one had to visit government offices on district level to generate their certificates and they had to fill life certificate form and that consumed lots of time.

Now with this app, one can easily generate their digital life certificate. This easy way facility for pensioners is certainly a good news as they will not have to waste their time standing in queues. This will also reduce corruption as pension life certificate is generated online without the interference of anyone.

How to Generate Jeevan Praman Certificate?

The online medium is quite easy. You need to install the Umang app first and then you need to click on the Jeevan Praman service. From there you will be redirected to the portal where you need to register yourself using Aadhaar or you can register using your mobile number and mPin.

Here are some more steps:

• You need to authenticate yourself using biometrics in Aadhaar
• You can then go to the Life certificate repository where your certificate is stored.
• An SMS will be sent wherein your Jeevan Praman certificate ID will be mentioned.
• Using your Jeevan Praman ID or Aadhaar number you can generate a PDF copy of your life certificate and then you can download it as well.
• You can also get an e-delivery of your certificate to the pension disbursing agency by enabling e-delivery facility

This is all it takes to get your certificate and then authenticate with the pension disbursing agency. It’s a matter of few minutes and your job will be done.
