Stocks Trending Today: Mahindra, TVS Motors Earnings and Outlook

Mahindra and Mahindra

The famous XUV drove the markets crazy with its quarterly results. The company reported 67% rise in y-o-y in the net profit at Rs 1257 crore for the June quarter beating the projected PAT record of Rs 1,172 crore.

The company recorded Rs 752 crore profit a year ago in this quarter. Its revenue registered a strong growth rate of 23% YoY at Rs 13,551 crore to rs 11,006 crore a year ago in this quarter. The operating profit margin increased by 15.8% for the quarter and it was up by 260 points.

The company exported more than 9,000 vehicles in the quarter, a growth of 100.2%. The tractor sales increased to 18.8%. The reason cited for its growth is high demand among rural and urban households, normal monsoon, combined with recently approved MSP for kharif crops.

Further, company’s endeavor to improve the capacity utilization and credit off-take has further augur well for its overall performance.

TVS Motor Company

TVS Motor Company shares reported a new high when it today reported 18 percent increase in the total sales at 3,21,179 units in the month of July. The company sold total of 2,71,171 units in the last year in the same month.

Its two-wheeler sales reported at 3,07,856 units as against 2,63,336 units in the July 2017, a staggering growth of 17% was reported. The exports increased by 42% to 72,242 units in the last month in contrast to 50,957 units in the similar month of the last year.

Further, in an endeavor grow the business to double digits, its logistics arm is in discussion with smaller rival Gati to purchase a controlling stake of about Rs 15,000 crore, signaling better prospects ahead.

These stocks has definitely given the share-market a new momentum. Definitely, the investors can hold it for a long-time period.
