ESIC Launches IVR/Helpdesk and Audio Visual Clips on ESI Benefits

ESIC has launched IVR/Helpdesk and Audio Visual Clips on Umang App for ESI Benefits. Objective is to help the Insured employees and create awareness among the employee- employer community.

ESIC HelpDesk

Insured employees/ ESIC Beneficiaries face lot of trouble due to lack of awareness as well as lack of procedural knowledge in claiming benefits under ESI Scheme. ESIC has come up with a toll free helpline number 1800-11-2526 to resolve complaint and queries of all the employees covered under ESI Scheme.

In the trial run, more than 1000 calls were received on the helpline and maximum callers were satisfied with the service. This helpdesk will address all sorts of queries related to benefits, hospital locations etc. Any employee having any query or problem related to ESI Scheme can call on the helpline and get his/her query resolved. If implemented properly, this facility can serve as a landmark for poor illiterate labour class.

A/V Clips on UMANG App for ESI Benefits

A/V Clips are always useful in explaining any process to anyone irrespective of viewer’s literacy level therefore, this idea works well among the labour class. Videos with info graphics and simple language will make it simpler to understand for any beneficiary, such videos were also available on youtube channel of “ESIC HQ” in past.

Similar AV clips are being produced for UMANG App and will be available very soon. UMANG app has an umbrella of government services at one place. After EPF, now ESIC will also host Mobile App ‘Chinta se Mukti’ on Umang platform to create awareness among the insured employees .

Such facilities are always beneficial for all the stakeholders, insured persons and their family members. Organized sector is still largely unaware of the ESIC benefits and avoid taking benefits of the scheme. Some awareness measures can help the department to reach out to their insured person and educate them about the scheme.
