Tata Motors Eyes to Rule Electric Cars Market with E-Vision, H5X Concepts

The company that has always a strong appetite for business along with the growth, Tata Motors has once again strives to create a mark in the history by launching a range of concepts including E vision Sedan, H5X concept and 45X concept (on which its car will be built) in the Geneva Motor Show 2018.  These products will be a stepping stone to success for the largest domestic auto maker. Here’s a look at how Tata Motors is going to foray in the e-vehicle segment

E- Vision Sedan Concept

The auto major presented its E-Vision Sedan Concept as a part of green mobility portfolio. Such cars would be built on OMEGA (Optimal Modular Efficient Global Advanced) EV architecture- the architecture will help the vehicle to address performance challenges including long distance travel, and the car would have classy interiors along with the top speed of 200km/hr. It would be the huge departure from all the products launched by the car maker till now. The car is expected to hit the road in 2020, provided the project is approved.

H5X Concept

Tata Motors launched the H5X concept- through which it plans to launch a premium 5-seater luxurious SUV vehicle. The car is expected to be hit the road in  the year 2019. The production will be based on Land Rovers L550 platform.

45X Concept Vehicle

Tata Motors 45X concept will sport highly scalable features. The premium hatchback car will be built on the two architectures like ALFA ARC- featuring luxurious and sporty features and OMEGA. As far as the technical details are concerned the sedan is expected to borrow its power-train options from Tata Nexon. However, with a twist! The petrol version could be powered by a 1.2 liter turbo-charged unit, while the diesel version might get 1.5 turbocharged engine capacity that could produce 90 BHP and 20 Nm of a peak torque. A new dual clutch automatic transmission will be available in Tata 45X premium hatchback.

Piping rivals of Tata Motors

After the stern warning issued by Nitin Gadkari ,”Move to Electric Cars or be bulldozed”. The car manufacturers are seriously putting their best efforts to give a tiff competition to each other. The launch of E-vision, H5X concept and 45 X concept states the same. But there are various other auto-makers like Hyundai, Mahindra and Mahindra that are advancing their steps to take the full control.

The cars like Hyundai Verna, Honda City, Maruti Suzuki Ciaz, and Volkswagen Vento, i20, Baleno are going to compete with the Tata Motors 45X concept. The other stiff competitor to Tata Motors is Kona SUV launched by Hyundai which will compete with H5X concept. Interestingly, Tata Motors rival Mahindra and Mahindra is also partnering with Italian design house to sport electric vehicle in the coming months.

In the end, the launch of electric vehicles and the concept of environment sustainability have taken center stage. Let’s see who proves to be the leader through its break- through technology.
